The Association of National Choreographic Centers was established in 1995 in Cannes, approximately fifteen years after the emergence of the first National Choreographic Centers.

The ACCN aims to organize exchanges and debates among the teams of National Choreographic Centers regarding the missions assigned to them by the state and local authorities: creation, dissemination, hosting and residencies for companies, choreographic development, training, archiving, and sometimes even programming.
